| Date | Problem | Solution |
| July 29, 2005 | Brain fade, left the motor down while backing out of the driveway & snapped the skeg off. The new stainless steel propeller took a good whack, but the blades were only slightly dinged or scratched. | Repaired by Sunset Marine. |
| July 28, 2005 | During a fishing trip in rough water, the low oil alarm activated after coming down hard off a large, short swell. Turning the engine off, then on, cleared the problem. This happened four times during the course of the day. | Conversations with Sunset Marine indicated no service bulletins on this issue. Bombardier Tech Support said they suspect that it might be that the software monitoring the oil tank float switch is a bit too sensitive. They are taking this back to their engineers. |
| May 14, 2005 | The "Check Engine" alarm went off as we idled away from the docks. The alarm reset after turning the motor off. Happened twice more, then the engine died and would not restart. |
Engine was repaired by Boat Depot in San Diego. Engine diagnostics indicated no problems with any of the electronics, and no water in the fuel. Disassembly of the fuel pump revealed a large amount of debris and dirt had managed to get past the fuel/water separator filter, and damaged the fuel pump. Pump was replaced under warranty by Evinrude. |
