Guide Boat Profile: The Fly Guy - Captain Ray Chandler

20/20 Hindsight

When asked if, looking back, there was anything he would do differently, Ray responded that he would have opted for better electronics, and built-in rod lockers.

Parting Words of Wisdom

Like Jim Day, we asked Captain Chandler if he had a tip or trick he thought our readers would benefit from. He thought for a moment, and said: " People should pay more attention to the trailer tongue jack. Oftentimes, the jack goes unnoticed and ignored until it breaks. If your tongue weight is heavy enough, you won't be able to do anything with the trailer until you get it fixed. And it's such a simple thing to keep in good shape. Just some anti-cirrosion spray and some grease."
