10/21/05 : 17:00:00So?the EMM is in, the wiring harness is in, but the stator is still missing. Sunset Marine says the stator should be here any time now, they had called Evinrude to give them a hard time, and were told the part had shipped. We decided to call Evinrude too, and ask where the heck the part is.

Evinrude Customer Service took care of us very promptly. The service agent I spoke to immediately went to check on the part, and I was informed that the part should arrive today or Monday. Apparently, the stators they had received from the supplier had not met quality standards and had to be returned. So the delay was waiting for the supplier to get new parts to them.

We'll see?
10/19/05 : 18:00:00No word from Sunset Marine?if we don't hear from them tomorrow morning, we'll give them a call. The 90 E-Tec's been out for a few years - I wonder what the problem with getting a stator is?
10/12/05 : 09:45:00Well?it's been a little more than a week! Doug called this morning to let me know that they had received the EMM, but BRP had asked them to also replace the stator and a wiring harness. He explained that the EMM registered a code indicating that the stator was not generating enough voltage below 750 rpm, but the stator tested OK. This lead to the conclusion that the EMM was bad. However, just to be sure, BRP decided to replace the stator and associated wiring harness as well.

Good thing we had another ride for our last fishing trip. We want to go out on the 27th, hopefully everything will be back together by then.
09/19/05 : 08:30:00Got a call from Doug, the head mechanic at Sunset Marine. Apparently the cause of the "Check Engine" alarm is the Engine Management Module, which is faulty and needs to be replaced. He is estimating a week to get the part in.
09/10/05 : 20:00:00Went fishing to the Coronados, and sure enough, the "Check Engine" alarm went off again during cold idle at the dock. Same scenario - starts immediately, seems to be running fine, then the "Check Engine" alarm goes off. Restarting the motor cleared the alarm. The engine ran fine the rest of the day. Power and mileage were fine, we had two guests in the boat, a full load of gear, a full bait tank, and still managed to get 4.2 MPG over a 74 mile trip.

The FF41 fuel flow meter was spot-on, 17.5 gallons recorded, 17.5 gallons went into the tank when we refueled.

This was a fly-fishing trip, and the Pleskunas VLMDs worked great for the guests. The bass seat in the front was also OK, but there's only just enough room on the front deck for it plus the VLMD.

Dropped TB2 back off at Sunset Marine on Monday 9/12.
