 When we first splashed Toy Boat 2, we had some concerns about
whether or not a small skiff could fish offshore as well as a large boat.
Assuming both can get to and from the fishing grounds safely, does
a large boat have an advantage over a small boat offshore?
 The answer is "usually". But, as always, there is no
substitute for good fishing skills. And there are lots of things you can do to
overcome the disadvantages of small size. This article covers most
of the issues that are involved, and reviews current thinking. You can try
out some of the suggestions, and / or compare your experiences in these
areas. We'd love to hear back from you on

REMEMBER - this is not a general discussion of
trolling techniques. This article deals specifically with size-related issues
between larger boats and skiffs.
